Man, I tell ya, maybe it's the holiday season or something, but lately the poetry I've been writing is total pap. But whatever. I'm leaving for a week so I don't when I'll be this close to a computer for a while, so I thought I'd throw this one in. It's the closest thing to a Christmas poem I could muster, which is appropriate since it seems to have almost nothing to do with Christmas...

UNTITLED

I might die tomorrow.
The solumn sterility of filthy darkness
bares down on me
same as everybody else.
But for tonight,
I will believe in happy endings.
Tonight,
I know it's darkest before dawn.
Tonight,
even grieving burns like the torch of love
and even saddness
nurtures tears of awestruck wonder.
The bloodless ones are doing fine.
The rest of us struggle through something deeper.
Tonight,
God is my lover
and I don't need his money
I just like the company.

Merry Chrithhmathh everyone!!
