So, I've been pretty busy lately. I've been feeling a little gummed up in the poetry department, but I'm sure I'll get inspire again soon enough. Bouts of writer's block never last too long for me. So I started a new job last week, working at a brand-new restaurant that's literally in my backyard. It's not bad, but I am kicking myself for ending up in a restaurant AGAIN. Still waiting to here back from the web page folk. I'd be working for these guys. The only problem is, the job would be much different from what I was expecting. I'd be cataloguing up to 6,000 patent grants and doing research on inventors in the oil patch industry. I totally didn't know what to tell them in the interview when they asked me what I knew about that field!!! I think I made something up about how I grew up in an oil town, so I knew lots of people in the industry (ha ha!) So anyway, I'll see how that turns out. I also found out that the job might still be open at A&B, so if the Alberta Heritage gig doesn't pan out, I might still try for that one again. 6.50 an hour doesn't sound too thrilling though. Ah, well. Gotta start somewhere.
