So, for those of you who have access to Edmonton's SEE Magazine, you MUST, MUST, MUST check out this week's issue, page 19. My friend Mandie is now officially a published writer!! WOOHOO!!!! Her first article is a book review of sheri-d wilson's between lovers, a collection of poetry. Mandie has a beautiful writing style, as elegant as the books she reviews. I'm glad to have her on my side!! She gives a very good sense of what the book is "about". Look at me: I'm giving a review of a review. Ha Ha!! I'm not sure if you can check out all the articles here, but you can see what SEE Magazine is all about from there, for those of you who live outside of Edmonton.
Anyway, lots going on in NatLand this week. Got sloshed at the Purple Onion on Wednesday night, ran into a chick I made out with when I was like 19 (and also sloshed). Ran into Christofer a few times this week. He's doing an art/music show tomorrow night, so stay tuned for news on how that goes. I think we're all heading over to Deb's art space after, so that'll be kickin' fun. I'm quite excited. It sounds lovely: he put the whole thing together from his laptop, and he tells me that the aim of this show is minimalism, to challenge people's attention span and their ability to concentrate in the midst of our in-you-face MTV multi-media culture. It's sort of an 'anti-sound bite' show, I suppose. Still no job (AAAAAARG!) so I've pretty much given up on A&B. It's probably for the best. I need something that pays a little more cash than that. I'm still holding out on the server jobs. I've found plenty of other things to apply for. I'm amazed how many writing jobs are out there once you make an honest effort to look for them. Now if only I could get a book of poetry published, I'd be all set...
