Well, I gotta say, bloggin is like the last thing on my mind right now. I'm deep into the jungle that is the exam season. When the hell am I gonna get my 50k a year job?? Screw it. I'll just be a superstar instead and spend all my money on muscle relaxants and Villas in Spain. And what's with having your social life heat up right when you need it least?? Where were these people 2 months ago when I didn't have a billion assignments due????? Okay, I'm just gonna rummage through my scribbly books and scrounge up some old nugget. AAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhh. Here we go. This one's a classic. A bitter twist on Shakespear's The Phoenix and the Turtle...
THE PHOENIX AND THE TURTLE, PART II
Passion
Shifted back onto its proper course.
I fly away from thee,
sweet turtle-dove,
never too clearly loving.
I fly away from thee
back onto my proper course.
The day has come and gone.
The moment rests in ruins.
But the eddies of the river Styx
move backwards.
I am surging with the swell
of the tide reaching for the moon,
only to find day break;
the blessed sun,
once to much to hope for,
the blessed sun,
back on it's proper course...
So don't call on me,
Don't you dare call my name,
when she kisses your wounds
in bland benediction.
The precious wounds I gave you freely,
sacrificing innocence
in your name.
Don't you dare call on mine
to guide her bland benediction
for I have found the blessed sun,
back on it's proper course,
And me on my proper pedestal.
The flames are calling.
The Phoenix is free of her Turtle.
