Seeing as it's Rememberance day and all, I thought I'd pop this one in. Strangely enough, I wrote it in March a few years ago.
THE COPPER ECLIPSE
Suddenly
We are thrust back into
Eternity.
Skimming the pavement,
Leaping on the moon,
We break through the horizon.
Meandering
Through Flander's Fields
Content to know we're free to weep
A copper eclipse
Descends upon the flickering poppies
Shivering their seeds of euphoria.
A copper eclipse
Descends on the burning mounds
Praying to be forgotten;
The crowd is paying homage
To the copper eclipse.
