I feel like I'm caught in the cast of Cheers
a one-season guest star
in a larger story
than me.

She tucks her hair
behind an ear
and pushes up her glasses
knowing that there is a part of her
she was never meant to share
a place of delicate mystery
where questions go unanswered
happily.
