Well, well, well. Nat's been super busy as usual. I'm starting a new job next week. I'll still be in the A&B Sound building, but I'll be working in claims. I'm going to miss my old job - it's a lot of fun - but the significant pay raise will certainly help me cope. heh heh. I'll be working in the claims department, helping people replace what they lost in a robery, etc. I felt a little strange about it at first, like I'm selling out or something, but frankly I'm just tired of living poor all the time. I'm tired of not having the resources to be generous with others. I'm tired of squeezing every penny and going without, and after last year, I've learned well enough that opportunities like this are rare and precious gifts that one must not ignore. It was time for me to grow up and start thinking with a good set of balls. So I'm taking the job.
Anyway, I wrote this one a few days ago. Just another mild love ballad.
THE ONE WHO CAME IN THROUGH THE WINDOW
He breaks the chains of chastizement
Coaxes the world into breathing around me
Lifts me on his little finger
Keeps me whirling like a weightless globe
He hops around my pop culture
Bounces me out of boredom
Comforts me with kind convenience
Flicks his wrists like a seasoned pro
And the way he smiles
Saves me from myself at times
Reaching for rich indulgences
Of unnecessary sacrifices
