My creative writing prof. wasn't too fond of this one, but here it is anyway.
GREEN FAIRY
The path of every charged treble
Appears daunting in this landscape
Of encumbered synesthesia.
The pale green of tepid, septic skin
Flees the gentle light
Of rosy mornings.
Green leaf
Green Fairy
Makes for glorious green envy.
Do you dare describe piety?
Rich and boisterous luxury
Ripe with lovely rarity
Exotic along the periphery
Left quivering with idolatry
For all that could be
But isn't.
In the twilight of a candid dream
I taste the candy
Of keeping kindness handy.
Green Fairy
Keep me tender in the folds
Of unfurled enlightenment.
Keep me malleable and red
Brushed with blushing crimson
When the emerald tides of humanity
Lick away soft serenity.
